Built and maintained as a family villa, Pandora is a beautiful home – a spacious and extremely comfortable villa set in extensive gardens with lovely views towards the sea on the south-west coast of the Cycladic island of Syros.
This is an excellent location with only a ten to fifteen minute walk to the beach. There are tavernas, bars and watersports available. Centrally heated, this is an excellent out of season property on the Greek island of Syros.
Accommodation Details
An exceptionally spacious covered veranda with magnificent views across the countryside to the sea runs the full length of the property.
Leading from this veranda is a very large and airy sitting room, beautifully furnished and decorated. A staircase leads up to a mezzanine level with a study area and a few steps lead down to a cosy snug/TV room. Leading from the living room is a large, fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher and microwave, as well as a washing machine and tumble dryer.
Doors lead from the living room and kitchen to the most delightful internal, vine-covered courtyard – perfect for al fresco dining.
All bedrooms are air-conditioned and there is a fan in the kitchen.
In the main house there is a charming air-conditioned master double bedroom with an en suite bathroom, a single bedroom which can also be accessed from the master bedroom if required, and a twin bedroom also with an en suite bathroom and air conditioning. There is also a separate shower room and a cloakroom. The air-conditioned fourth double bedroom and en suite shower-room is on a lower level with its own patio/courtyard and steps leading to the pool terrace. This bedroom has a separate exterior entrance. There is also a pull-out bed on the mezzanine study area above the living room. An extra bed can also be put into any of the bedrooms, except the single room.
This house is also fully heated and has a beautiful open fireplace, making it ideal for letting in the cooler months.
There is Nova satellite TV with seven Novasport channels and two Eurosport channels. These usually cover most international events.

Outside Facilities
For eating outdoors, there is a purpose built barbecue, a magnificent long south-west facing veranda and a really lovely internal paved courtyard. All these provide shade and everything you need for entertaining.
The property has beautiful mature gardens, and plenty of patio furniture. The owner has recently added a beautiful swimming pool, which measures 11 x 4 metres and is set in a stone terrace, surrounded by a low wall, with fantastic views to the sea.
Local Area
The village has a mini supermarket where most items can be found including frozen food. It is around 7 mins walking from the house. Also in the village are a baker and a chemist. The next door village has much larger supermarkets, a butcher, a bank atm, baker and a general store. This is around 5 mins by car. The house is really well served by these sort of facilities.There are also a number of small tavernas in the village. Possidonia is a lovely village with some idiosyncratically ornate mansions and a bright blue church right on the edge of the village. The surrounding countryside is dramatic and mountainous.
Just ten to fifteen minutes walk from the property is the beach of Agathopes, a lovely, safe sandy beach with a small islet offshore.
The owner of Pandora can assist with organising yacht and motor cruiser hire if required.
There is windsurfing and water skiing available on the island.
Ermoupoli, the busy commercial port, is about 10 kms or a 20-minute drive away and is a fascinating visit. This is a very attractive and sophisticated town and as Syros was once the Capital of the Cyclades, and at one time of Greece, it has some very impressive architecture as well as some good restaurants. There is a wide range of nightlife and some interesting shops and an excellent art gallery.
There is now a splendid, newly restored opera house in Ermoupoli and there are programmes running throughout the year.
