This charming cottage, recently built around the ruins of a former farm cottage, is perched just above the sea and takes full advantage of its dazzling views and private position. The private swimming pool and sun terrace boast some of the most outstanding views to be found on the island. Located at the bottom of a winding no-through road, it shares its solitary position only with the tiny church of Klima, Agioi Anargiri.
Anargiri Cottage is perfect for a couple seeking a romantic holiday for two. A family can have the children camping in the loft and still have the privacy of the master bedroom with its own terrace. Accommodation Details
Inside, a great deal of attention has been paid to detail and there are characterful touches throughout the property: timber beamed ceilings, exposed stonework , a traditional bread oven and pretty blue shutters. There is an open-plan kitchen/dining and living room from where a flight of stairs leads to the wooden sleeping gallery. The gallery has twin beds and door to a small balcony which enjoys fabulous views and overlooks the swimming pool. The sleeping gallery is situated under the pitched roof and overlooks the living room. A tiny WC with hand basin is located under the stairs. The master bedroom, reached either from its private outside door, or from the living room is a charming room with wood beams set into its rendered ceiling. The windows at the front of the room offer the same stunning views out to sea with the pool in the foreground. This room also has an en-suite shower room. A small covered terrace is located just out the door and is the perfect place to relax and enjoy the unspoilt beauty surrounding this wonderful cottage.
Outside Facilities
The cottage is painted in traditional white with blue shutters and a red tiled roof and has pretty terracotta pots spilling with flowers. The private swimming pool is just outside your doorstep and the sun terrace is a lovely place. Looking down the hillside over the remains of some old stone-built houses, the sea views from here are unobstructed. Nothing but azure seas and neighbouring islands with tiny fishing boats and ferry boats busily plying the waters. The tiny port of Loutraki can be seen below and the white-washed hilltop village of Glossa above. Hours can be passed just watching unforgettable sunsets from this extraordinary spot. Just beneath the sun terrace is the lush flower filled garden of the owners tiny house below. He is not a resident, but on occasion visits the island.
Local Area
Anargiri Cottage is located just between the old village of Klima and the second largest town on the island, Glossa. The hillsides are covered with olive groves and fruit orchards and the surroundings are very unspoilt. The quaint town of Glossa has all the every day necessities needed: baker, butcher and markets as well as a lovely taverna with a roof-top terrace. The tiny port town of Loutraki, which is open from mid-May to mid September, has an attractive waterfront lined with several cafes and tavernas specialising in local dishes. They are both within a 10 minute drive from Rodia, and Skopelos Town is approximately 50 minutes drive away. Rodia is also perfect for walkers as the surrounding hillsides are full of old donkey paths to explore. A path leads down to Loutraki, reachable in approximately 20 minutes and there is a beach at the bottom of the track for a cooling swim.
